Students are taught how to use the following Texas Instrument calculators in this Algebra II course:
TI-82 This is the oldest version of the graphing calculator. It is near obsolete, and is rarely found for purchase. The technology is outdated, however, it will work for most applications in Algebra II. It has no APPS (Applications) button, and it has limited space for programs.
TI-83 This is an upgrade from the '82, however it has no APPS button (applications), it has no pre-loaded features, and it has no USB port.
TI-83+ This is an upgrade of the '83. It contains Flash Technology, and space for 10 applications. It has a USB port, and comes pre-loaded with Finance application and some programming capabilities. It also has an upgradeable operating system.
TI-84 This is an upgrade of the '83+. It contains Flash Technology, and space for 30 applications. It has a USB port with a cable, and comes pre-loaded with Finance, Cabri Jr., and programming capabilities. It has 3x the memory of the '83+ and is 2.5x faster. It also has an upgradable operating system with a high contrast display.
TI-84+ Silver Edition (SE) This is an upgrade of the '84. It contains Flash Technology and space for 94 applications. It has a USB port with a cable, and comes pre-loaded with Finance, Cabri Jr., Periodic Table, and programming capabilities. It has 9x the memory of the TI-83+ and is 2.5x faster. It also has an upgradable operating system with a high contract display, and interchangeable designer face plates.
